Let's talk about failing - Crowdfunding Campaign Day 20
Hello everybody! How are you all doing?
It's been 20 days since our crowdfunding campaign has started. How awesome is that?!
I'm not going to lie. It's been crazy with all the ups and downs. Our minds are taking a lot of damage here dealing with work and this feeling of not making it.
It's not easy staying positive all the time, lol.
Thinking about it, today we decided to post about "not making it to our goal."
So, the other day someone left a comment asking about our campaign. They asked, "What happens if the goal isn't met? Will you provide a refund if you can't reach the goal?"
It's a valid and very important question because we forgot to talk about it on our DevLogs.
Most people use Kickstart to make their campaigns. On that platform, most of the time, we have around 30 days to reach our campaign goal. If this goal isn't met, the bakers are refunded and we need to start a new campaign.
The same doesn't happen with Ko-fi.
On Ko-fi, we set a goal and wait for people to donate until we reach it. It can take one week, three months, or a whole year. Our deadline only happens when the goal is met.
This means our campaign only depends on you and us.
There are pros and cons to this.
- Pros: We can work on our campaign for as long as we need. No worries about time.
- Cons: Everyone (including us) will wait for an unknown time until the goal is met.
That's why we are working so hard to get people's attention on our campaign, so we can make it to our goal faster.
This campaign feels like a double-edged sword. But we are not letting it stop us!
As we mentioned before, this is not a small project. We have voice actors, music composers, and proofreaders. We are also dealing with merchandise, shipping prices, and taxes. And it all costs money.
We need to make it because this time we are not working only as DemonBear and Alex at the Moon. This time, we have a team with us and we want to provide them with a good experience and all the payments for their service.
But in case our 9k goal is not met by the next few months, we will try to raise the minimum to pay the voice actors (only the main characters) and the composer.
No matter what happens, we will not give up on this project.
***All the decisions made here will not affect the reward store. Your order will get to you no matter what.
So now you know what is happening here.
That's why we need your help to share it and support us so we can keep it going and reach our goal as fast as possible.
Thank you, everyone, for supporting us, for sending donations, for ordering the rewards, and for always trusting our projects.
Your kindness over the past few weeks is the only thing keeping us on track. You guys are our everything.
Thank you so much.
We will keep working hard!
